A fire broke out during the screening of superstar Prabhas' film "The Raja Saab" on Friday night, causing panic in a movie theater in Odisha's Rayagada District. There were a lot of people watching the movie at Ashoka Talkies in Rayagada when the incident happened.

The entire hall reportedly erupted in cheers and applause as Prabhas' forceful entrance was shown on screen during the movie's entrance scene. Whistles blew, many people switched on their cell phone flashlights, and spectators got up from their seats, all of which added to the tension. Some fans even began performing aarti, a Hindu ritual that involves waving lamps, in front of the movie theater's screen during this frenzy.

A firecracker exploded, causing chaos.

Some people reportedly tried to light firecrackers inside the hallway during this time. In a matter of seconds, this negligence proved to be costly, as a fire unexpectedly started close to the screen. Screams filled the hall as the audience became terrified upon seeing the flames.

The tension in the movie theater persisted for several minutes. Fearing that the fire might spread, people hurried to the exits to protect themselves. Fortunately, though, the theater personnel and audience responded swiftly and wisely, and the fire was contained.

Film screenings were discontinued.

As a safety measure, the movie screening was halted right away. This incident has not resulted in any reported casualties. The prompt containment of the fire prevented a significant mishap, but this event has sparked grave concerns about such festivities and carelessness in movie theaters.

At the box office, Raja Saab surpasses Dhurandhar.

In terms of Prabhas' film's box office receipts, Sacnilk reports that The Raja Saab made Rs 64 crore in India and Rs 100 crore worldwide, surpassing Dhurandhar's Rs 29 crore on its first day. With this, it appears that Aditya Dhar's spy-thriller is nearing its end.
