Chiranjeevi's statement that grandsons carry on "legacy" infuriated social media users.
New DelhiThree years after the birth of their first child, Klin Kaara, Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni Konidela welcomed twins, according to Telugu superstar and Padma Vibhushan recipient Chiranjeevi.
In the midst of all of this, internet users were reminded of an old remark made by the seasoned actor, which infuriated people on social media. Last year, Chiranjeevi's declaration that he wanted a grandson to continue his legacy caused controversy.
What's the whole point?
Chiranjeevi discussed his personal life at a pre-release event for the upcoming Telugu film Brahma Anandam in Hyderabad. I don't feel like I'm with my granddaughters when I'm at home. He remarked, "I feel like I am in a ladies' hostel and I am their warden because there are only girls around."
The Telugu actor also expressed his wish for his son, Ram Charan, to have a son as a second child. "Please have a boy this time; he will carry on our legacy," I said to him.
Back then, Chiranjeevi's statement was criticized by social media users who questioned the actor's reasoning. "I don't know with what intention he made such a comment, but he should come out of this medieval thinking that only sons would be the successors of a family," stated YSRCP spokesperson Shyamala, pointing out that Upasana Kamineni, the actor's daughter-in-law and Ram Charan's wife, is a prosperous businesswoman.
Chiranjeevi's wish has now been granted.
But on January 31, the superstar's wish was finally granted because he was the only one to inform fans of the good news. We are pleased to announce that Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela have been blessed with twins, a boy and a girl, with great happiness and gratitude. The mother and the infants are both doing well and in good health. For us as grandparents, welcoming these young children into our family is a moment of unadulterated happiness and divine favor. "Chiranjeevi & Surekha, we truly appreciate all of your prayers, love, blessings, and well wishes," he wrote in his X post.
