At the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, India lost their fourth Twenty20 International against New Zealand because the majority of their hitters were unable to chase 216 against the Kiwis. Shivam Dube attempted to pull off a miracle when India's top order failed, but the hosts in Vizag were unable to do so, and the Men in Blue lost by 50 runs.

It was up to the Indian hitters to fill the void left by Ishan Kishan's injury and replace him with Arshdeep Singh, but they were unable to duplicate the devastation of the earlier games. With Suryakumar Yadav scoring eight runs and Abhishek Sharma falling for a golden duck, none of the top four hitters were able to reach thirty.

Samson had an outstanding start and made 24 off 15 before being cleaned up after scoring 16 runs in three innings. Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube, among others, made an unsuccessful attempt to save the Indian team, despite the latter's outstanding batting performance.

Dube delivers a stunning knock, but the innings ended unluckily.

Dube put on a batting display with India's backs against the wall, giving the hosts' camp a glimmer of hope for a miracle. With almost ten overs remaining, the asking rate was over 13, but Dube continued to drive forward and produce some amazing strokes.

In an unfortunate run-out at the non-striker's end when Harshit Rana's hit ricocheted to the stumps off bowler Matt Henry's hand, Dube made 65 from 23 balls with seven sixes and three fours and hit a fifty off 15 balls to keep India just alive.

The wicket was the last straw because there was no known batter who could score the remaining 71 runs. India was therefore dismissed for 165 in 18.4 overs.

With opener Tim Seifert hitting a 25-ball fifty and 62 from 36 balls, as well as Devon Conway scoring 44 from 23 deliveries, New Zealand, batting first, put up a strong total. The Kiwis struggled in the middle, losing wickets frequently, but Daryl Mitchell finished strongly, scoring 39 from 18 deliveries to bring the total to 215/7.

With one more Twenty20 International to play before the T20 World Cup 2026 begins, India is still leading the series 3-1. The series' last game is scheduled for January 31.
