KL Rahul rejoins the Karnataka teamThe return to the Ranji setup gives the competition even more significance. Over the past few years, the Indian batsman has only made two Ranji appearances in red-ball domestic cricket. In January 2025, he played his most recent match against Haryana. Rahul is expected to provide experience and poise to a batting unit that has struggled with consistency after coming off a successful ODI series against New Zealand.
In the meantime, decisions for this crucial match are influenced by a reorganized selection committee and a new leadership group at the association level, reflecting recent changes within Karnataka cricket administration.
Prasidh Krishna, who will lead a pace attack supported by several fast-bowling options, is scheduled to play in his first game of the season. For a team trying to put pressure on the ball early, his return is timely.
However, Abhinav Manohar has been left out and Karun Nair will not be playing for Karnataka due to an injury.
